Cambria-Friesland is planning Graduation for the Class of 2020 at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 15. The ceremony will take place outdoors on the football field. The class will be socially distanced and seated in the home stands. Space on the football field will be designated for families of graduates. All those planning to attend graduation must bring their own lawn chairs to use on the football field and should abide by appropriate social distancing guidelines. There should be no arrivals for placing chairs or reserving space prior to 12:30 pm Saturday. The playground will not be open for children during this time. Children attending the ceremony should remain seated with their family groups.
Parking for handicapped and elderly family members will be provided by the football concession shed. All others should park in the school's regular parking lots and walk down to the field.
A photographer has been engaged to take photos of individual graduates and the ceremony which will be accessible to all families after graduation. Individuals are asked not to move among the seating area or up to the stands to take their own pictures. The traditional senior slideshow will be viewed indoors by the senior class as a group; however, others wishing to view the slideshow will be able to access it via links which will be posted to the school website and Facebook pages the day of the ceremony.
The ceremony will be followed by a Senior Class Parade through the towns of Cambria and Friesland. Families attending the ceremony will be given time to depart so that they, as well as any other extended family or community members who will not be attending the ceremony can find places along the parade route. There will be no receiving line after the ceremony. All attendees should depart at the conclusion of the ceremony. To maintain social distancing guidelines, the parade will act in place of a receiving line allowing individuals to wish the graduates well and show their support.
