How to become a substitute teacher in the Cambria-Friesland School District
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) charges fees for the issuance of teaching licenses. Unless determined otherwise by the district, cost for a substitute teaching license is the responsibility of the applicant.

If you have an associates degree or higher from an accredited college or university you are eligible for a DPI - Three Year Short Term Substitute License after a successful completion of an approved substitute training program. A number of virtual/online training programs are offered by all twelve Cooperative Educational Service Associations (CESA) throughout the state. STEDI.org is another option that is both affordable and readily available. To learn more about the CESA course offerings, STEDI.org and more, go to the DPI - Three Year Short Term Substitute License.
Upon successful completion of a certified substitute teaching program, the Cambria-Friesland School District will reimburse you up to 100% of your cost to participate in the training, within your third paycheck after working for the district.
