SUMMER SCHOOL

Summer School Swim Registration Correction
In the last newsletter, the dates and time for registering for summer school swim lessons were incorrect.  The corrected dates and time for sign up for swim lessons are Thursday, May 28th and Friday, May 29th from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at the Cambria pool in Tarrant Park.  We regret any inconvenience this may have caused.

Summer School Spots Still Available!

There are many spots still available in classes to be offered during Summer School 2015 here at Cambria-Friesland Schools.  A course description booklet and registration form is available on-line on the District’s website.  Or, please call 920-348-5135 and we would be happy to send registration materials home with your child.  Our summer school classes offer a variety of learning experiences and activities not readily available during the school year.  The registration deadline has been extended!  Don’t let your child miss out on these fun and engaging learning opportunities.


Summer Reading Programs
will begin on Monday, June 8 and run until Friday, July 31

June 10 at noon in the park is "Fitness Day" with a variety of outdoor activities planned

June 17 at noon in the park is "Mr. Steve" a family entertainer who does music, magic, ballooning and more

June 24 at noon in the park is "Superheroes to the Rescue" various stations of craft projects to make and take

July 8 in the library our theme will be "Community Heroes" and we will have drop in activities and games

July 15 at noon in the park will be The Traveling Latern Theatre Company performing "Sword in the Stone"

July 22 at noon in the library our theme will be "Heroes Thru Out History" with make and take craft projects

July 27 through August 7 for grades 6-12 will be a Lego Mindstorm program

Free Friday Flicks will run every Friday, June 12 through July 31 at 3 p.m.; exact titles TBA

Bread Basket Community Food Pantry

The Bread Basket Community Food Pantry is available to residents of Cambria and the close vicinity who may need food on an emergency basis, by appointment only.

The pantry is located in the basement of the Presbyterian Church.  The entrance is on Towyn Street.

OPEN: 1st Monday of the month, 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
2nd, 3rd, 4th Tuesdays of the month, 10:00 a.m. to noon.

Free Medical Clinic - Portage, WI

When: 9 a.m. to noon every Wednesday.
Where: the lower level of Wilz Drug and Home Health Care, 140 E. Cook St.
Who can get free clinic services: Anybody. No appointment or insurance necessary, and Columbia County residency is not required.

The Cambria-Friesland School District is located 40 miles north of Madison, 25 miles east of Portage and 19 miles west of Beaver Dam.  The school district community includes the villages of Cambria and Friesland and six townships.  The Cambria-Friesland School District enrolls about 420 students in one building.
